In the high-stakes world of aircraft repossession, a Latina repo pilot is forced to work alongside her estranged father to fly off his debts, one stolen plane at a time.
An hour-long single-camera action-adventure-thriller created and written by Marco Alejandro Santiago, a two-time finalist for the Sundance Episodic Lab.
After a young woman repossesses her estranged father's race plane, a powerful loan shark and terrorist financier forces them to work together, globetrotting the world to repossess planes from criminals and corporate deadbeats in order to work off her father's debts.
The Recovery Agents is a hybrid one-hour single-camera action-adventure-thriller that lives in the uniquely unexplored and dangerous high-stakes world of aircraft recovery and repossession, told through the eyes of Ronnie (Laura) Garcia, a Latina repo pilot who repossesses her estranged father's race plane on behalf of Vlad, a loan shark and terrorist financier.
Populated with a culturally diverse cast and a variety of exotic aircraft and locations, the series kinetically follows the recovery of these amazing planes as a metaphor for the recovery of relationships long abandoned, namely that of a daughter and her estranged father, a recovering alcoholic and gambling addict who occasionally falls off the wagon. Ronnie struggles with conflicting loyalties between her father and Vlad, both locked in an epic battle for her soul. In the end, we learn that it's much harder to recover a relationship than it is to recover airplanes.
Stylistically, the show strives to achieve the epic tone of Philip Kaufman's The Right Stuff while delivering the diversity and kinetic energy of The Fast and the Furious.
